What EQSAB accreditation is — and what it is not

EQSAB is an independent, private accreditation authority. EQSAB is not a signatory to the IAF Multilateral Recognition Arrangement, and EQSAB accreditation does not constitute recognition under the IAF MLA or by any national accreditation body.

Accreditation by EQSAB confirms that a certification body has been assessed against the requirements of ISO/IEC 17021‑1 for technical competence and impartiality. Buyers and specifiers should confirm that this form of accreditation meets their own regulatory or contractual requirements. Read the full statement of legal status →

Requirements for references to EQSAB accreditation by applicant bodies

Bodies whose applications are under assessment hold no accreditation and shall make no reference to EQSAB in certificates, marketing, or client communications until a grant is entered in the public register. Describing an application, or an assessment in progress, as accreditation is a misrepresentation under EQSAB-TR-001 and grounds for refusal of the application.
